Group Opportunities

We welcome groups!!!

We love having groups at NCM whether from local civic clubs, schools, scout troops, churches, etc.

Groups support NCM in a number of ways:

Food Drives

We suggest having a food drive so that you can bring in the canned goods from your group and stock the shelves.

Your group could also raise funds to purchase food. We gladly accept financial donations designated for the food pantry. We have volunteers who really know how to maximize the purchasing power of a dollar!

Check out our guidelines for groups.

Break down bulk donations

School groups often work on repackaging bulk items into packages that we give out to clients.

We suggest that you bring your own donated items to guarantee work for your group.  For example, large containers of laundry detergent, rice, diapers, and even toilet paper can be broken down by your group and then put on the shelves.  We provide the bags and markers for breaking down the items.

We cannot always guarantee that we will have enough special projects to keep your group occupied, but we will try our best to accommodate you and keep you busy.

Check out our guidelines for groups.

Christmas

In November and December there are many opportunities to help our client families celebrate the season.

Your group can:

  • do a toy drive

  • raise funds to purchase toys and grocery gift certificates

  • organize donated toys

  • pack packages for our client families

  • help distribute packages on pickup days

Check out our guidelines for groups.

School Supplies

In the summer and fall we collect school supplies that are distributed through schools in the Norcross school cluster.

Your group can:

  • do a school supply drive

  • encourage your church's Vacation Bible School to support NCM's school supply program as their Local Mission Project

  • raise funds to purchase school supplies

  • pack book bags with school supplies

Check out our guidelines for groups.

Volunteer during client service hours

Adult groups and older youth can help serve clients during client service hours.

Some groups adopt one or two days a month and provide a number of volunteers to fill the various roles required to serve our clients.

See our description of individual opportunities for more details.

Guidelines for groups

Contact NCM to schedule the date and time of your visit.

We will need a contact name and phone number.

We can accommodate 1 or 2 groups at a time depending on the activities and the size of the groups.

Groups that include children need to have adult supervision.  We suggest 1 adult per 4 to 5 kids depending on the age.  We recommend that school groups be in 1st grade or higher.
